Sweat played in all 13 of Texas’s games as a freshman. He recorded 22 tackles, four tackles for loss, one sack, and one pass broken up with one forced fumble and one fumble recovery as a sophomore. Sweat had 22 tackles, two tackles for loss, and one sack during his junior season.
As a senior he was named honorable mention All-Big 12 Conference after finishing the year with 30 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, seven quarterback hurries, and four passes defended. Sweat considered entering the 2023 NFL Draft, but ultimately decided to utilize the extra year of eligibility granted to college athletes who played in the 2020 season due to the coronavirus pandemic and return to Texas for a fifth season.
